'Our Town' audition today

Proscenium Players, Inc. announces auditions for "Our Town" by Thornton Wilder, 6:30 p.m. today at the Children's Museum of Northern Nevada, 813 N. Carson St., Carson City.

Male and female actors ages 8-98 are invited to audition for the large cast production. Auditions are cold readings from the script. "Our Town" is directed by Jason Macy and produced by Pat Josten and will be performed weekends Oct. 2-17 at the Children's Museum.

'Godspell' continues this week

Theatre of Arts Discipline presents "Godspell," 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at Pau-Wa-Lu Middle School, 701 Long Valley Road, in the Gardnerville Ranchos.

Musical theater audition

The Performing Arts Project holds open auditions Tuesday for all ages for the Brewery Arts December performance of "Clara's Prayer," a ballet musical theater adaptation of "The Nutcracker." The studio is at 2556 Precision Drive, Suite E, Minden.

Musical theater workshops

Wild Horse Children's Theater announces one-week musical theater workshops instructed by professional New York actors Sierra Scott and Nicholas Aliberti.

Each workshop ends with a performance showcase.

"Where the Wild Things Are" for ages 6-8, 9-10 a.m. Aug. 10-14. Cost, $50. Introduces musical theater acting, dance and singing. Children learn basic improvisation and performance skills and will make props and costumes.

Broadway Kids for ages 9-12, 10 a.m. to noon Aug. 10-14. Cost, $75. The workshop teaches basic performance skills using material from "High School Musical," "Grease" and "Hairspray." Students learn improvisation, movement, solo performance and scene work.

Advanced Musical Theater Workshop for ages 13-20, 1-4 p.m. Aug. 10-14. Cost, $125. The workshop focuses on improvisation, voice and speech for the stage, monologues and scene work with partners using musical theater numbers. Students are encouraged to bring original pieces.


'A Year with Frog and Toad' leaps to stage

Wild Horse Children's Theater presents, "A Year with Frog and Toad, Kids," family musical, 4 p.m. Aug. 22, 23, 29 and 30 at the Children's Museum of Northern Nevada.

'Loving Lives' opens Aug. 21

The Unnamed Acting Company and Wild Horse Productions present "Loving Lives," 7 p.m. Aug. 21, 22, 28, 29, 30, at The Children's Museum of Northern Nevada, 813 N. Carson St., Carson City.

This production is recommended for ages 12 and older. Tickets are $8 for general admission and $5 for seniors and students.
