Thirsty Third Thursday wine walk this week

Staff Reports

Enjoy wine, food and music at the Thirsty Third Thursday Wine Walk at 4:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday. Main Street Gardnerville hosts wine walks the third Thursday of the month through Sept. 17. This month's event features a red, white and blue theme.

Purchase $10 wrist bands and a $5 commemorative wine glass for the wine walk at registration booths at the Town of Gardnerville office, 1407 Highway 395, or the Stratton Center, 1532 Highway 395, Gardnerville. That same wine glass may used each month but a new wrist band must be purchased for each Thirsty Third Thursday event.

Wine walkers who wear red, white and blue on Thursday receive extra entries to drawings for prizes and gift certificates.

Main Street Gardnerville will have a food booth on the lawn of the Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center, 1477 Highway 395, and some businesses offer snacks along with wine samples.

Entertainment on the wine walk includes Vanessa Littrell at Joyce's Jewelry, Ten Dollar Pony at A La Carte Salon/Tuscany Tan and the Grizzly Hackles at the Angler's Edge.

Local musicians interested in being involved with upcoming Thirsty Thursdays, should contact the Main Street Gardnerville at mainstreetgardnerville.org or 782-8027. The next Thirsty Thursday wine walks are Aug. 20 with a '50s theme and Sept. 17 with a Hawaiian theme.

Coupons with a $5 discount for the wrist bands are available at participating businesses.
