Clays benefit

Rummage sale benefits 4-H

The Great 4-H Fabric and Rummage Sale to benefit the Carson City and Storey County 4-H scholarship fund is 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Feb. 6 at Carson City Fuji Park Exhibit Hall, 601 Old Clear Creek Road across from Costco.

Tax-deductible donations of fabrics and lightly used household items accepted to be used for the Carson City/Storey County 4-H annual fabric and rummage sale 9-4 p.m. Feb. 7 and 9 a.m. to noon Feb. 8 at Fuji Park Exhibit Hall in Carson City. 'Chicken Every Sunday'

Student-Senior Day is Feb. 7 at the Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center, 1477 Highway 395, Gardnerville. Screenings of the 1949 movie, "Chicken Every Sunday, at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Part of the movie was filmed in Carson Valley and stars Celeste Holm and Dan Dailey. Museum tours led by costumed docents, 10 a.m. noon and 2 p.m.

Free admission for seniors and students with accompanying adult on the first Saturday of the month. Information, 782-2555.

Museum lecture

Joe Curtis presents a pictorial look at Virginia City's past, 7 p.m. Feb. 12, at the Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center 1477 Highway 395, Gardnerville.

The free lecture series is sponsored by the Douglas County Historical Society the second Thursday of the month. The museum and the Main Street Book Store will be open before and following the one-hour lecture. Information, 782-2555.
