Kudos to Douglas Disposal

EDITOR:

Douglas Disposal's 15th annual food drive was a huge part of Carson Valley Community Food Closet's successful holiday food drive. Customers contributed bags of food that were collected by Douglas Disposal employees and delivered to the food closet where it was sorted by volunteers for distribution to needy families.

The workers at the food closet and its clients want to thank Douglas Disposal employees for the success of the drive. A big thank-you also goes to the customers for their generous response.

A special thanks to Boomer Schultz who coordinates the drive and reports 8,940 pounds of food was gathered this year. This demonstration of the involvement of the community in this year of even greater need is crucial to the continuing ability of the food closet to help our clients. We are hard-pressed to keep up with the almost 30 percent increase in clients. The food closet welcomes food or financial donations throughout the year. Drop off nonperishable food donations at 1255 Waterloo Lane, Gardnerville, 1-4 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Friday.

Information, director Kathy Thompson at 782-3711.
