The R-C Morning Report

The Record-Courier's new format is on the streets. It's a big change, but it might seem like a lot bigger deal to us than it is to you. Let us know what you think. There's nothing we can do about the size, but it would be better to know if there are other things we can change now. Thanks for being patient with us.

Douglas County continues its budget hearings today at 4 p.m. I don't know how far they made it down the list on Tuesday, but expect the East Fork Fire & Paramedic Districts to be heard today along with the redevelopment agency. The county meets in its offices at 1616 Eighth St.

The Minden Town Board meets 6 p.m. tonight to discuss a pipeline to the north county and beyond. That pipeline may give Indian Hills an alternative to building a big old arsenic plant to deal with its water worries.

It may be April Fools Day, but that there is snow in the forecast for the end of the week is no prank. The National Weather Service is calling for a 40 percent chance of snow by Friday. More likely are the gusty winds expected over the next few days and a 20-degree temperature drop on Thursday night. Welcome to spring.
