The R-C Morning Report

We've got a few road controls in the mountains, but that's about all that's left of the two storms that dropped very little moisture as they blasted through Western Nevada. Chains or snow tires are being required on Kingsbury Grade and over Highway 50 from just above Carson to Stateline. Regionally, chains or snow tires are required from just south of Walker to Bridgeport on Highway 395. Snow tires or four-wheel drive are being required on highways 50 and 88 over the Sierra.

County commissioners meet at 1 p.m. today in the historic Minden courthouse, 1616 Eighth St. In addition to a discussion on water system consolidation, commissioners may approve paying Minden $880,000 in redevelopment money for the pipeline between the town and Airport Road. The meeting times out at just over five hours, which includes an hour for community grants that will be heard after 5 p.m.

What will the weather be like when they walk out of their meeting? Mostly sunny if they're done before sunset, which is unlikely. Today will be mostly sunny with a high of 47 degrees. Tonight will be clear and cold with a low of 25 degrees. We've got another burst of weather on the horizon for the weekend.
