Fire weather watch issued

A fire weather watch has been issued for Carson Valley and the eastern Sierra by the National Weather Service. A storm front is expected to swing through Northern California and Western Nevada on Tuesday bringing scattered afternoon thunderstorms.

Most of the storms will be dry with little or no rainfall.

The watch is in effect from Tuesday afternoon through evening. Any lightning-caused fires will be exacerbated by erratic winds accompanying the storms.
