Lone Tree hosts artists Saturday

Lone Tree Gallery hosts three artists at a wine and cheese reception as part of October's Second Saturday events. The gallery opens at 10 a.m. Saturday.

Carson Valley artist Vicki Kingman shows her powwow series of photography on canvas. Kingman has worked in different media: watercolor, glass etching, ceramic tile painting.

She uses digital photographs in her current work, where she keeps the original image but manipulates the color. Kingman describes her work as traditional with a contemporary treatment.

Alpine County artist and musician Russel Ketenjian will be showing paintings, prints and new frames. He designs his own frames that are finished in gold leaf.

"I'm bringing some new frames and small-sized, intimate prints, romantic artwork and portraits of figures," said Ketenjian.

Maxine Caprioli-Hight, from Fallon, is known for her poster for the Reno Rodeo and for her depiction of Western wildlife and landscapes.

"I work in acrylics and now paint horses because I'm living in cowboy country," she said.

Lone Tree Frame & Gallery is at 1598 Esmeralda Ave. in downtown Minden. Information, 782-2522.
