Barrels located around Valley for food closet donations

Staff Reports

Local businesses have gone all out this year to support the Carson Valley Community Food Closet with donation barrels to collect nonperishable and canned food for the holiday food drive. The community continues to support this worthwhile cause with their generous food donations.

With less than a week before the distribution of Christmas dinner boxes to the qualified individuals and families, donations can still be made at local barrel drops. All groceries received will be added to the food closet shelves for the holiday and the coming New Year. Consider making a donation to one of the barrels or to the food closet directly.

Barrels are located at the Minden courthouse, Dairy Queen, Zephyr Cove and Stateline post offices, Western Nevada Surgical Center, Center for Advanced Eyecare in Gardnerville, Park Cattle Co., Douglas County Public Library, Coldwell Banker Itildo in Minden, Christmas at Chaparral Court in Minden, Silver Spirit All-Star Cheer, The Record-Courier, Northwest Marshal Arts, Hamdogs Restaurant, A American Self-Storage and in Minden Village at BodyWise, Wachovia Securities, Indigo Restaurant, Wasabi's Restaurant, Cold Stone Creamery, City National Bank, Charles Schwab, First American Title, Lira's Supermarket, 88 Cups Coffee & Tea and Artisan's International Gallery.
