'Barrels of thanks' from food closet

Editor:

Barrels of thanks go out to the Carson Valley community for their support of holiday food drives and barrels throughout town. How fortunate we are to live in a community where everyone gets in the act to display the true spirit of Christmas. Everyone from the Boy Scouts, Douglas Disposal, KTVN Channel 2, the Carson Valley Inn and local businesses participated in the success.

Here are the businesses we wish to thank: Douglas Disposal, AG Edwards, South Lake Tahoe Mortgage, Charles Schwab, Cold Stone Creamery, Business Bank of Nevada, Minden Pizza Factory, Hamdogs Restaurant, Coyote Bar & Grill, Zephr Cove Post Office, Stateline Post Office, Douglas County Comptroller and Sheriff office's, Stodick Estates South Model Home, Muscle Manipulators Massage, World Gym (Minden and north Carson), and Orchard Antiques.

Not to be forgotten are the Sheriff's Mounted Posse for their help in distributing Christmas dinner boxes and all the food closet volunteers. Thanks to everyone who participated and contributed to this wonderful effort. All of us at the food closet deeply appreciate your help and generosity. The joy of the holiday will remain in the hearts of those you helped.
