Red flag goes up at 2 p.m.

The National Weather Service is raising the red flag at 2 p.m. today, particularly for areas north of Interstate 80 as a strong low pressure system hits the coast. High, warm winds and low humidity will persist through the evening. The cold front is expected to arrive in Western Nevada on Tuesday, with even stronger winds. Gusts today are expected to hit 30 mph. On Tuesday, gusts will climb to 40 mph during the afternoon and evening. While humidity is expected to increase on Tuesday, a fire weather watch will still be in effect for the entire day.

The weather service isn't predicting any moisture associated with this system. The high temperature on Tuesday is expected to hit 82, on Wednesday, 78.

Currently in Genoa it is 97 degrees and the humidity is 21 percent.
