Red flag warning in Sierra on Monday

The National Weather Service has issued a red flag warning starting 11 a.m. Monday as a cold front rolls into Northern Nevada. Ahead of the front wind gust of up to 40 mph will occur across the Sierra. Windprone areas could see winds of up to 45 mph. The wind and low humidity will combine to create critical fire conditions, according to the Weather Service. Expect wind gusts this evening of up to 30 mph north of Highway 50. On Tuesday, the high temperature is expected to top out in the mid-80s.
