The R-C Morning Report

Three of the four children in a duplex fire in the Gardnerville Ranchos learned not to burn in part thanks to the East Fork Fire & Paramedic District's fire safety trailer program, according to Fire Marshal Steve Eisele. Fire drills in the home made a big contribution to the family's survival of the fire that woke them up at 4:20 a.m. Wednesday. In all four adults and six children have been displaced by the fire. We're working on donation information and as soon as we know, we'll post it.

The weather isn't changing much these days. Today's high is supposed to hit 88 degrees. But on Friday it will heat way up to 97 degrees under sunny skies. Saturday will cool down a bit and then by Sunday it will be back to around 90.

The Elks are hosting their monthly taco night fundraiser tonight at the lodge in the Gardnerville Ranchos. They'll be open 5-7 p.m. with $1 tacos at 1276 Pit Road.
