Heavenly was in the middle of a snowstorm on Sunday when it closed for the season. At last report, another 6-10 inches of snow fell Saturday night. More snow was falling during the day on Sunday. Kirkwood reported between 22 and 32 inches of snow fell from this last storm. Kirkwood will close for the season on April 29.
Highway 88 is closed between Silver Lake and Kirkwood this morning. You'll need chains or snow tires to get that far. Both 80 and 50 appear clear with no controls. Road work is ongoing on Jacks Valley Road and on Highway 28 near the junction with Highway 50. There is also bridge work reducing traffic to one lane on Highway 208 starting 2 miles south of Wellington.
It's cloudy out now, but it is supposed to clear over the next few days with temperatures climbing into the upper 70s by the weekend. There's nothing in the forecast to indicate that we'll be getting wet again anytime soon.
