Two accidents snarl Kingsbury

At least two non-injury accidents are snarling traffic on Kingsbury Grade this morning.

At 8:20 a.m. a BlueGo bus with seven passengers collided with another vehicle. No one was hurt, but the highway was blocked.

Nevada Highway Patrol is working another non-injury accident on the grade.

Chains or snow tires are required from Foothill Road to Highway 50 as a winter storm warning issued by the National Weather Service begins at 10 a.m. and is expected to last until 10 p.m. tonight.

Forecasters expect 4-6 inches of snow to accumulate on the Valley floor by Wednesday morning.

About 2 inches of snow fell in Genoa this morning, after nearly an inch of rain.

R-C Weather Watcher George Uebele reported 1.51 inches of rain during Sunday and Monday.

Heavenly reported 30 inches of snow fell over a 24-hour period.

Douglas deputies called for plows to clear the road this morning.

The Douglas County School District closed Whittell High School and Zephyr Cove Elementary School for a snow day.
