Today is the fifth anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center. People all across the nation are flying flags outside their homes in observance of the anniversary.
The Record-Courier is giving away flags this morning to those who need one. Also the Nevada Appeal printed a flag in their C section on Sunday, which is delivered to The R-C's subscribers.
At 9 a.m. today, the Carson Water Subconservancy is hosting a water confab at the CVIC Hall in Minden. The subconservancy has representatives from all up and down the Carson River.
The National Weather Service issued a special statement today saying we're about to go on the temperature roller coaster we usually expect of September.
Temperatures are predicted to shoot up above 90 degrees today and Tuesday, but cold low pressure in Canada is going to send those temperatures plummeting on Wednesday.
High winds will accompany the cold blast, which will bring highs down to the low 70s.
North of I-80, the weather service is expecting snow levels to drop to 7,000 feet.
Lows in Minden should hit 38 degrees by Saturday when there is a slight chance of rain.
