Those big yellow buses will be rolling out early this morning to pick up Douglas County's high and middle school students. That means the school zones in front of Carson Valley Middle School and Douglas High School will be in effect. It may still be warm but as far as Douglas school children are concerned, summer is officially over.
The National Weather Service has issued a red flag warning for today due to high winds and very low humidity as a low pressure trough rolls through the area. The warning starts at 11 a.m. and will last until 8 p.m. Expect wind gusts of more than 45 mph along Highway 395.
The forecast for Minden is sunny with a high temperature of 91, and breezy with west winds of 10 mph increasing to 15-20 mph. Gusts could be as high as 30 mph. The temperature before sunrise in Minden is 52 degrees.
