Audrey I. Cooper


1930-2006


A celebration of life for Audrey I. Cooper, 75, will be 2 p.m. June 3 at the Cooper family home.


Mrs. Cooper died May 16, 2006, at Washoe Medical Center. She was born Sept. 20, 1930, in Norfolk, Neb., to Bob Truex and Wilma Bell.


She graduated from Reno High School in 1949, and married Earl Cooper the same year.


She was a Brownie and Girl Scout leader and a volunteer at Zephyr Cove Elementary, Kingsbury Middle and Whittell High schools. She worked as a teacher's aide, librarian and head cook at Whittell High School, retiring in 1991.


She was active in the Lake Tahoe Republican Women's Club, the Barton Hospital Auxiliary, Kiwanis and Rotary.


She was preceded in death by her son, Mark Cooper in 1960; and daughter Susan in 1973.


Among her survivors are her husband of 57 years; daughter Linda Cooper; daughter and son-in-law Carol and Scott Sullivan of Martinez, Calif.; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several extended-family members throughout the country and Norway.

Leoda Mae Hamilton


1914-2006


Graveside services will take place 2 p.m. today at Eastside Memorial Park, Minden, for Leoda Mae Hamilton, 91, who died May 18, 2006, in Carson City.


Mrs. Hamilton was born June 5, 1914 in Culver City, Calif., to Harry Watkins and Margaret Tanner.


A resident of Gardnerville for 19 years. She was married to her husband of 58 years, James Raymond Hamilton Jan. 9, 1948, in Los Angeles, Calif. She was a homemaker. Prior to moving to Carson Valley she lived in Reseda, Calif.


She was preceded in death by her son Marvin Clyde Thomas, grandson Michael Clyde Thomas and her brother Clarence Watkins. She is survived by her husband James Raymond Hamilton of Gardnerville; her daughter Sharon Lee Paquet of Glendale, Calif.; grandson Wayne Russell Thomas of Aurora, Colo.; great granddaughter Lauren Thomas of Denver, Colo.


Arrangements are in the care of FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home in Gardnerville. Burial will take place at Eastside Memorial Park in Minden.
