Obituary: Mae Louise Pearce

A memorial service for Mae Louise Pearce, 85, of Carson City, will be at 2 p.m. today at FitzHenry's Funeral Home in Carson City.

Mrs. Pearce died Thursday, Oct. 21, 1999, at her home. She was born May 11, 1914, in Connecticut, to Anton and Alice Kluntz Lassen.

She lived in Carson City for nearly 35 years, coming from Paramount, Calif.

She was the former owner/operator of Sierra Sage Motel in Carson City.

She was past president of the Women's Golf Club of Eagle Valley Golf Course. Avid golfer who competed in many golf tournaments through out the state. She was a member of the Eagle Lodge, a past member of the Civil Air Patrol, a former volunteer at the Carson City Senior Center.

She attended the the Ponderosa Bible Church.

She served in the U.S. Marine Corps for many years where she received a marksmanship medal.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wiley "Pinky" Denny Pearce in 1992.

She is survived by her sons, Lawrence Pearce of Tustin, Calif., and Clyde Eddie Pearce of Anchorage, Alaska; a daughter, Ardith Sturman of Cottage Grove, Ore.; a brother, Anton "Bud" Lassen of Carson City; 13 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

FitzHenry's Crematory is handling arrangements.
