Craft space available for chili cookoff

Craft space is still available for the 14th Annual Carson Valley Sertoma Chili Cookoff and Craft Fair. The charitable fundraiser will take place 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, April 22-23 at the Carson Valley Inn behind the RV park. With 70 exhibitors at the 2005 event, the available space was at capacity. Sign-ups for this year's event are filling up fast but there is still space available. Sign up soon to assure a space.

Space allotments are 10-foot by 10-foot with a 2-foot space between. Double and triple spaces are still available. The cost is $85 per space. Application deadline is April 10. Spaces will not be pre-assigned, first come-first choice of location. No power will be available. Set up may begin after 10 a.m. on Friday. Security will be provided Friday and Saturday night.

A shuttle has been provided by Genoa Lakes Golf Resorts so access will be easier between the parking lot and the event, making it easier to get craft purchases back to vehicles and offering access to visitors with limited walking capabilities.

The event will feature food and chili, drinks, chili tasting, 10 valuable raffle prizes both days and live music provided by Janet and Corky. There will be contests for Miss Chili Pepper, Mr. Hot Sauce and Shoot and Holler. Awards will be presented for red and green chili and salsa, as well as "best booth" and "first time cook."
