Douglas County Parks & Recreation Department will be hosting "Battle of the Bands 2006" for teens on Saturday at the Douglas County Fairgrounds building in Gardnerville.
Local teen bands will compete for a first-place prize of a recording session and other prizes.
Bands include; Order 67, Xenophobes, The Devices, Bossa Nova, Desolate Minority, Asystole, Rock of Ages, Disaster on the Front Lines and Acid Tamale.
Prizes have been donated by Costco, Wal-Mart, Ironwood Cinema, Pizza Factory of Minden, South Lake Tahoe Ice Arena, Boomtown, Nik-N-Willies, Jumbos Sub Shop, Video Maniacs, Silver Strike Bowling, Cornerstone Music, Domino's Pizza, Music Trading Outpost and Maytan Music Center.
The event will be held 4-10 p.m. and the cost is $5. Refreshments will be available.
