Talent search for 'Battle of the Bands 2006'

Douglas County Parks & Recreation Department will be hosting "Battle of the Bands 2006" for teens on April 15 at the Douglas County Fairgrounds Building in Gardnerville. Local teen bands will compete for a first-place prize of a recording session, as well as other prizes.

Bands who are interested in playing can submit an application, available at the Douglas County Recreation Division, along with a demo CD or video tape of their band and a $15 entry fee.

The event will be from 4-10 p.m. and cost is $5 to watch the event. Food and refreshments will be available.
