Douglas High School track and field was the host of the 2025 spring Northern Nevada regional track and field meet Friday and Saturday.
As a team, the Tiger girls took fifth place with 65 points while the boys took ninth with 32 points.
Katelyn Coons took second place in the 100-meter hurdles for the Douglas girls in 15.84. She was also second in the 300-meter hurdles, putting together a 46.76.
The Tiger girls 4x200 meter relay team finished in third place, earning a spot at state. The foursome of Alexsa Reyes, Coons, Rachel Girdner and Anna Patmont posted a time of 1:45.02.
Douglas’ 4x100 team, featuring Reyes, Patmont, Bryani Ono and Grace Strabala-Karosich, took fourth place to earn a spot at state with a 50.54.
Ono, a Tiger freshman, took fourth place in the long jump with a mark of 16 feet, two inches to qualify for state.
Strabala-Karosich took third in the 200-meter dash in 25.45 to earn a state qualification spot.
TIGER BOYS
The Douglas boys 4x400 meter relay team made the final race of the day count, punching their ticket to state with a fourth place finish in 3:28.59.
Luke Davis qualified for state in the 1,600 and 3,200 as an individual. Davis was second in both events, running a 4:24.35 and 9:43.25, respectively.
In the 3,200, Davis was 14-hundreths of a second off of the first place finisher.
