A strong thunderstorm moving through Douglas County knocked out power as it passed north at 10 mph 3:30 p.m. Thursday.
NVenergy.com reported 1,961 customers, mostly in Minden, were without electricity.
Power was restored to most customers by 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
National Weather Service Reno meteorologists said Doppler radar was tracking the storm which is driving 40 mph winds and dumping pea-sized hail in places.
Forecasters are urging residents to go indoors until the storm passes.
Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects.
