Genoa, Nev. — A story I’ve been covering for 14 years may finally wrap up with a groundbreaking 2 p.m. today at the entrance to Pine View Estates for a sewer line along Highway 395 down to Gardnerville. The original sewer plant has been on the fritz since at least 2011.
When Gardnerville first installed electric car chargers, the hope was that people would shop in town while their cars charged. It’s entirely possible that will come to an end at tonight’s Gardnerville Town Board meeting 4:30 p.m. today in the town offices, 1407 Main St.
Care Flight Managing Director of Safety Katrina Solaro will be the guest at the Good Governance Group meeting noon today at the COD Casino in Minden. Bring $5 for the room.
The Sierra Sagebrush Fliers, the model R-C airplane club, is making a presentation to the Minden-Tahoe Airport Advisory Board 6 p.m. today at the Douglas County Courthouse, 1616 Eighth St., Minden.
No word on whether the Zephyr Cove Branch of the Douglas County Public Library will open today after a mouse nest was found on Friday. With hantavirus in the news, it makes sense to be cautious with nests whether at the library or in your house.
Today, the forecast is for sunny skies and a high temperature of 86 degrees. The wind is predicted pick up out of the northwest at 5-10 mph.
