Genoa, Nev. — Discussion of future improvements to Minden-Tahoe Airport and its capital improvement plan are on the agenda at today’s meeting of the Airport Advisory Committee 6 p.m. in the Douglas County Courthouse, 1616 Eighth St., in Minden.

No one was transported from two single-vehicle collisions that occurred one after the other on Monday morning. A white SUV went through a fence and into the Edna Wilslef Ditch on Kingston in the Gardnerville Ranchos at around 9:20 a.m. Not quite an hour later there was another report in Topaz Ranch Estates near Sandstone and Slate.

Cloud cover may block the view of the blood moon this week. There might be a break in the clouds on Thursday, with just half the sky covered around midnight. The question is whether the moon will be in the right half.

A winter storm watch for Lake Tahoe has been upgraded to a 48-hour warning beginning 11 p.m. today at Lake Tahoe. National Weather Service Reno forecasters say 12-18 inches are possible at Lake level and 2-3 feet on the Sierra Crest.

Carson Valley is unlikely to see any weather arrive until Wednesday morning, but if the forecast comes to fruition, the prediction is for around a third of an inch of rain and possibly an inch of snow through the day.

Today will be another mostly sunny one with the high near 60 degrees and the wind out of the west at 5-10 mph. The sky was clear as a bell this morning and full of fat stars.
