Genoa, Nev. — Members of the model R-C Club, the Sierra Sagebrush Flyers are making a presentation to the Douglas County Parks & Recreation Advisory Board, which meets 6 p.m. at the Community & Senior Center in Gardnerville.

The advisors will also hear a request to fund a public restroom on the east side of Minden-Tahoe Airport. Developing that side of the airport for soaring has been a long time goal.

It could cost $13.15 million to rebuild all the roads in Chichester Estates, according to the five-year capital improvement plan report prepared by Gardnerville Town Manager Erik Nilssen for tonight’s town meeting.

Gardnerville is also seeking a site for a restroom at Mountain View Pond from Minden, which has a well site. The town board meets 4:30 p.m. today at its offices at 1407 Main St.

This last storm left a fifth of an inch of snow-water equivalent at Carson Pass, according to the Natural Resources Conservation Service’s snow telemetry. Ebbetts Pass got .3 inches. Both are well behind where they should be for the year.

That might improve some according to a winter weather advisory issued for the Sierra starting 4 a.m. Wednesday with 6-12 inches of snow possible above 7,000 feet.

Today will be fairly mild with a forecast high temperature of 56 degrees and the wind picking up out of the west at 5 mph this afternoon. Any precipitation isn’t predicted to arrive until early Wednesday morning.
