A former Gardnerville resident was sentenced to 2-8 years in prison for high-level possession of a controlled substance.

Patrick Brandon MacRoberts, 52, cooperated since his Jan. 29 arrest at Lake Tahoe with nearly 3 ounces of methamphetamine.

Attorney Mary Brown said MacRoberts has been remorseful from the start.

The charge carries up to 15 years in prison, but the case was subject to an agreement for a lesser sentence.

MacRoberts went to prison in March 2018 after he admitted to trafficking in cocaine and methamphetamine.

When he was sentenced to 18-48 months in prison in 2018, prosecutors said he had four felonies on his record.

His November 2017 arrest was regional news.

• A Coleville man admitted Monday to felony charges of residential burglary and grand larceny of a motor vehicle in connection with a Nov. 9, 2024, incident.

Angel Nick Aispuro, 30, allegedly crashed a car into the garage of a home near Pine View Estates and took a Honda motorcycle from the garage.

Aispuro could face up to 15 years on the two counts on June 16 if he is sentenced to consecutive prison terms. He is eligible for probation.

• A woman who has been to prison three times was granted probation on Monday.

Sarah Lynn Anderson, 35, has a few hurdles to go through before she’s free, though. She was sentenced to an underlying term of 12-30 months for possession of methamphetamine and 364 days in jail for being an ex-felon in possession of a stun gun.

She was given credit for 177 days time served on the two sentences, which will be served simultaneously.

Anderson has a warrant for her arrest out of El Dorado County and a federal hold out of Sacramento.
