Members of A Girl & A Gun at a May 8 clean up at the Douglas Shooting Range.

On May 8, several members of the Douglas County Chapter of A Girl and A Gun spent the morning cleaning up the Douglas County Shooting Range.

The Douglas County Shooting Range is used by many local shooting enthusiasts, community organizations, gun safety and training companies, and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office. In a very productive two hours members raked, shoveled, and bagged several thousand pounds of shell casings, and other assorted trash.

“A shout out and huge thank-you to Douglas County for providing all tools and trash bags needed for cleanup,” organizers said.

A Girl and A Gun is a national women’s shooting league established by women shooters for women shooters.  This league is designed to provide firearms training and encouragement in a safe and nonjudgmental environment. From beginners to advanced shooters, improved skill levels can be achieved through the many classes and programs offered. All range events are supervised by Certified Firearms Instructors.
