The Douglas County Chapter of A Girl and A Gun spent two hot and sweaty hours cleaning up the Douglas County Shooting Range on Aug. 3.

This is a public range utilized by not only shooting enthusiasts in Douglas County, but also by different organizations, gun safety and training companies, and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.

In the two hours they were there they raked up and shoveled into garbage bags approximately 1,300 pounds of trash which included shotgun shells, bullet casings, clay pigeon pieces, cardboard ammo boxes, plastic bottles, aluminum cans, and other assorted trash.

A big thank-you to Douglas County for providing all the tools and trash bags needed for cleanup along with some nice cold waters and snacks for their breaks.

A Girl and A Gun is a national women’s shooting league established by women shooters. The league is designed to take beginners to whatever skill level they wish to achieve and provide experienced shooters with more opportunities.

The objective of some is to improve their skill levels for both self-defense and/or competitive shooting. For more information about the Douglas County chapter, and their monthly activities, you can visit their Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/groups/AGAGDouglasCountyNV
