Genoa, Nev. — Rescuers responded to a three-vehicle collision in the 88-County Road roundabout at 7:30 a.m. today. There's no report of serious injuries, but that intersection is going to be a mess this morning.


County commissioners are scheduled to make appointments to a dozen boards today. Half those boards have the same number of applicants as open seats, while the other half account for two-thirds of the roughly three dozen applicants. The meeting starts at 10 a.m. in the historic Douglas County Courthouse. You can watch at douglascountynv.gov


Speaking of courthouses, the Debt Management Commission approved a resolution to OK $37 million in financing for a new Douglas County Justice Center on Wednesday morning.

I sat on the deck for a spell last night and watched the Geminids flash through the atmosphere and listened to the coyotes sing. It was clear and cold, and the night sky rivaled any Christmas display.


Tonight might not be quite so clear tonight, with the forecast calling for mostly cloudy skies. Today is forecast to be partly sunny with a high near 49 degrees with the wind out of the north at 5 mph.
