Intricate pottery and vibrant paintings, culinary, green architecture projects and 3D printed ornaments are just some of the highlights during Pau-Wa-Lu’s Night of Artistry 5:30-7 p.m. Dec. 13.

The third annual event is an invitation to families and residents to visit the campus and see the talents of PWL Panthers beyond academic achievements.

“The Night of Artistry is not just an exhibition,” said Pau-Wa-Lu EPIC Instructional Coach Jennifer Worthington. “It’s an invitation to the community to witness the incredible talents within the school.”

The evening includes interactive displays by students enrolled in design and modeling, games and puzzles, outdoor science and the performing arts.

The Pau-Wa-Lu band, choir and drama class will provide entertainment, while visitors enjoy dishes cooked up by the Food and Nutrition class for $5 a plate. Each plate includes hors d’oeuvres, dessert and a drink all made and served by the students.

Children visitors can decorate their own cookies and enjoy a Christmas story time read with students and teachers.

Night of Artistry was started in 2021 by a committee of Pau-Wa-Lu staff members as a way to showcase, demonstrate and sell the work done by students to help inspire them and to allow them to explore different skills, find their passions and hone in on those interests.

“Pau-Wa-Lu Middle School welcomes everyone to be part of this evening,” said Worthington. “We are looking forward to the community joining us and coming to see the talents of our students.”

Pre-ordering meal plates is recommended. The school is located at 701 Long Valley Road in the Gardnerville Ranchos. Call 775-265-6100 or visit the Pau-Wa-Lu website for more information.
