A nationwide $50,000 bench warrant was issued for a 60-year-old Dayton man who failed to appear for his arraignment last week.

Anthony Edward Silveira, 60, was arrested on Dec. 3, 2022, after he’d allegedly been found casing open houses by a real estate agent.

Attorney Martin Hart said Silveira sent him a photo of a drive line the man claimed had fallen out of his car.

A warrant had already been issued for his arrest on Feb. 22 through the Department of Alternative sentencing after he allegedly failed to charge the GPS device he was wearing.

A search of the Explorer Silveira was driving turned up a list of six addresses and two pamphlets for open houses from Reno to Minden, along with jewelry and medications that weren’t in Silveira’s name.

A Charleston, S.C., television station reported Silveira was a suspect in the theft of money from an open house in March 2019.
