Members of the Douglas County Varsity Pop Warner Cheer squad are conducting fundraising across Carson Valley after they won first place at the Sagebrush Competition in Reno on Sunday.
“They were invited to participate at the national level representing Douglas County, Northern Nevada, and the Pacific Northwest Region of Pop Warner,” Coach Carah Dykes said on Thursday. “What an honor.
Members of the Junior Varsity squad placed second.
The squad stopped by The Record-Courier on Thursday as part of their fundraising efforts to go to the national competition in Florida.
Douglas County Pop Warner is a 501(c)(3) so any donation is deductible for donors.
