Two Carson Valley firms recently announced renewal of their annual support for the Douglas County Community & Senior Center.

On Monday, Neddenriep Financial committed $4,000 for their seventh year of sponsorship for the  center, located in Gardnerville.

Last week, The Baker Hughes Foundation announced it will renew its annual support for the center, which opened in 2014.

“At Baker Hughes, we are proud of our people and the communities where we work. We are honored to be able to give back,” said Bently Nevada Vice President Ed J. Boufarah. “We cannot overstate the importance of a strong, family-oriented community. I am delighted that Bently Nevada is here in the Carson Valley and to announce our continued support of the Community & Senior Center as it makes it possible for so many people to have a safe place to enjoy a wide range of activities.”

Bently Nevada originally began its support of the community center in 2015 with a donation of $50,000.

Bently Nevada also provides support for the annual Minden Concert in the Park, MEFIYI, Backpack Buddies, Bunko for Breast Cancer, the Boys and Girls Club, Minden Aviation, Red Cross Northern Nevada, the UNR College of Engineering, UNR Society of Women Engineers, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo’s Rotordynamics Engineering Lab, WAVE, the Carson Valley Chamber, the Carson Valley 20/30 Club, Austin’s House, and Tahoe Fund.

“The Community & Senior Center is proud to be associated with Baker Hughes,” said Community Services Director Scott Morgan. “Their generosity and commitment has made a significant impact in Douglas County. They are a leader in their industry and a shining example of corporate responsibility in our community.”

Neddenriep Financial is a local accounting firm serving Minden, Gardnerville, South Lake Tahoe and the surrounding areas of Carson Valley.

“The success of any community program is dependent on the ongoing partnerships of those involved who serve the community,” Morgan said.  “Neddenriep Financial has dedicated seven years of naming rights sponsorship for the Grandview Dining Room in the Douglas County Senior Center and the seniors in the community and the County are extremely grateful for their continued support.”

The Community & Senior Center offers a gymnasium, fitness center, jogging track, racquetball courts, arcade, rock climbing wall, youth programs, and sports leagues, and serves as a venue for business meetings, charity dinners, and wedding receptions.

The center also played an important role in 2021 as one of the local Red Cross emergency evacuation centers during the Tamarack and Caldor Wildfires.
