After a hiatus due to the coronavirus outbreak, the Carson Valley Active 20-30 Club is resuming its traditional Easter Sunday egg hunt.

The event is 1 p.m. at Lampe Park.

“Make sure you are there early as the hunt happens right at 1 and goes quickly,” event chairman Tommy Lovell said.

There will be three age groups, including infant-3 years old, 4-7 years old and 8-11 years old.

Lovell said the Easter Bunny will be on hand for photo opportunities with the children.

“This year’s hunt will have over 10,000 real and plastic eggs spread across the three fields,” Lovell said. “Prize baskets will be awarded to the children who find the two golden eggs in each age group.”

The club cancelled the egg hunt in 2020 and 2021. In 2020, the club donated the $1,500 they would have spent on eggs to the Family Support Council.

It was one of the few times the egg hunt had been canceled in the club’s long history.

The cancellation due to an outbreak of mumps in the school prompted the club to cancel the event in 1939.
