A southern Douglas County fire that was reportedly the result of a controlled burn getting out of control kept firefighters busy on Friday.
According to the Sierra Front Interagency Dispatch the Bosler Fire grew to 6.5 acres before it was finally stopped at 4 p.m.
East Fork Fire Protection District firefighters responded to the blaze on Bosler Way southeast of Topaz Ranch Estates after it was first reported around 2 p.m. Friday. Antelope and Smith Valley volunteers responded to the blaze, along with brush engines and water tenders from around the region, including one dispatched from the Sierra Front. The nearest structure was reportedly a half mile from the fire. There was no report of injuries or structure loss.
East Fork fire units returned to station by around 8 p.m.
Firefighters from around southern Douglas County are working a 5-acre brush fire burning off Bosler Way near Topaz Ranch Estates.
The fire was reported as an out of control burn at around 2 p.m.
In addition to East Fork firefighters, brush trucks and tenders are en route to the fire from Antelope Valley and Smith Valley volunteers, along with Sierra Front.
Both Mono and Lyon counties are also sending units.
