A burst fire sprinkler closed the Douglas County Public Library on Monday and Tuesday.

Flooding damaged parts of the adult fiction, biography and large print collections.

It required the library to close to clean up the mess in the northeast portion of the building.

Curbside service was available on Tuesday, and the library will reopen Wednesday for limited browsing

That section of the library that was affected by the flooding will be closed off while the carpets dry.

The bookmobile requires a part and will be out of action until Friday.

A Medicare 101 class sponsored by Craig Wilcox will be 11 a.m. Thursday and Nov. 18.

A Sherlock Holmes themed Murder Mystery Party for adults at the Minden Library is still set for 4-6:30 p.m. Nov. 9. Participants are asked to sign up in advance at the Minden Library, by phone at 775-782-9841, or by emailing the library at info@douglas.lib.nv.us. When signing up, please provide a first and second choice for character selection, as characters are assigned on a first come, first served basis.
