This month’s meeting of the Carson Valley Photo Club was held Feb. 9. President Susan Roaldson welcomed everyone. Twenty members attended. Hopefully by May the club will be able to meet in person.

The theme for this month’s members photo contest was “Patterns and Themes in Winter Landscaping.”

Contest Judge Chuck Diephius had 32 entries to review.

The top three winners were:

1st place, Kim Steed, ‘Dangberg Ranch’

2nd place, Robin Grueninger, ‘Mountain Texture’

3rd place, Susan Jack, ‘Before the Storm’

The March theme will be “Capturing Shape, Form, & Linear Perspective through the Lens” The photo club will meet again 6:30 p.m. March 9.


The Carson Valley Photo Club hosted a show on Friday at the CVIC Hall in Minden in conjunction with Eagles and Ag. The event was snowed out last time and all activities were postponed until this coming weekend.

Normally, meetings are held at The Carson Valley Methodist Church, 1375 Centerville Lane, Gardnerville, at 6:30 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month. Everyone with an interest in photography is welcome. Find out more by visiting the photo club’s Facebook page or visit carsonvalleyphotoclub.org.
