Genoa, Nev. — Eagles and Agriculture is hosting a reception tonight at the CVIC Hall in two bursts, 3:30-5 p.m. and 5:30-7:30 p.m. The Carson Valley Photo Club will have its work on display. Go to carsonvalleynv.org and hit reception to see if there are any seats left. You might even score a seat on one of the weekend tours.


Money for the design of Muller Lane Parkway survived another challenge on Thursday. Commissioners voted 3-2 to leave $1.1 million in the Regional Transportation Commission after a long debate.


Commissioners voted to fund two water studies and provide $800,000 to China Spring Youth Camp’s account to make up for a shortage from Medicaid billings. The camp is still facing the possibility of having its budget cut at the Legislature.


Douglas only reported two new cases of coronavirus on Thursday, bringing the county up to 464 active cases and 1,974 recoveries.


If it’s Friday there must be a storm coming. The first part last night didn’t do much, but the main system is approaching the Coast this morning.


There’s a chance of rain around lunchtime today and there’ll be wind out of the southwest at 10-15 mph, gusting as high as 30 mph. If snow turns up, it’ll be early Saturday morning and the forecast says it won’t be much.
