The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is collaborating with the local chapter of the Special Olympics Nevada to participate in the Law Enforcement Torch Run 9 a.m. Friday on Highway 395 traveling from Heritage Park to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.

Last year the event was replaced with an online fitness challenge, but the two groups will once again travel together in person arriving at the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Judicial Law Enforcement Building around roughly 10:15 a.m.

Members of the community and businesses are encouraged to stand safely along the sidelines and cheer on the athletes and the Sheriff’s Office as they pass. Please be advised that traffic delays may occur at this time along the route during the scheduled time.
