Genoa, Nev. — Roadwork season is kicking off on Genoa Lane, which will be down to one lane this week through April 8. There will be lot’s more where that came from as days get warmer.

East Fork responded to a smoldering fire about 3 miles up Sunrise Pass Road from Painted Rock over the weekend. It was swiftly doused, but it’s something we need to keep an eye out as things continue to dry out.

Sunday was warm, but didn’t break any records at 74 degrees, and we’ve already had one day with 71 degrees in March. We’ll be on the temperature roller coaster for a while.

Save often as a dry cold front is rolling through 10 a.m. today bringing southwest winds 30-45 mph with gusts of up to 45 mph, according to a statement issued by the National Weather Service in Reno.

Even after the cold front passes the wind will shift north at 20-35 mph with blowing dust, with the winds gusting to 45 mph tonight.
