Genoa, Nev. — There’s a community coronavirus testing event 9-11 a.m. today at the Douglas County Community & Senior Center in Gardnerville. The Feb. 3 event only drew 67 people.


As of Valentine’s Day, 327,691 Nevadans have received their first dose, or around a tenth of the population. According to the Centers for Disease Control, another 98,469 received a second dose.


There was some excitement in Carson Valley on Monday with a high-risk traffic stop on Highway 395 near Johnson Lane around 8:30 a.m. for a vehicle that had been reported stolen. Then around 6 p.m. what sounded like a pursuit through Gardnerville ended up being a guy taking his buddy to the hospital for an emergency.


There are road controls over Spooner Summit and running up Highway 28 this morning, but everything else looks fairly clear.

The next few days should be relatively nice with partly sunny skies today and a high near 46 degrees. The wind will be out of the northwest at 5-15 mph shifting east before lunchtime.
