Genoa, Nev. — The Library Board of Trustees moved their meeting up to 10 a.m. today where I’m expecting them to order the library to reopen. You can watch the meeting at https://youtu.be/DVKthj4PNpM

• With two meetings worth of material to get through, Douglas County commissioners have a long day ahead of them. The meeting starts at 9 a.m. with presentations on vacation rentals and wild horses and a bunch of budget augmentations. You can watch at https://youtu.be/15SzOMj-kto

•An incident at a Gardnerville auto parts store involving a man who allegedly tried to stab people with a screwdriver at around 4:15 p.m. I did a quick check and he was detained and talking to a deputy.

•Wednesday’s community coronavirus testing event at the Community & Senior Center only attracted 67 participants. That’s a far cry from some of the events that tested around 400 people over the summer. I know there’s a light at the end of the tunnel, but in the coronasphere, objects often appear closer than they actually are.

• Carson City Health & Human Services has vaccinated 8,704 people in Douglas, Carson, Lyon and Storey with the 8,775 doses they’ve received so far. Remember that 70-somethings and older are also receiving vaccinations from private pharmacies as they roll in, but that’s not happening very quickly.

• The forecast is for mostly sunny skies today with a high temperature near 42 and a light breeze in the morning calming as the day progresses.
