Genoa, Nev. — Douglas County planning commissioners are scheduled to meet virtually 1 p.m. today to discuss the Buckeye Farms Agrihood. You can follow along by visiting douglascountynv.gov by clicking agendas and minutes and clicking on planning commission under Meeting Group.

Community coronavirus testing is noon to 2 p.m. today at East Fork Fire Station 12 in Sunridge. They’re not doing flu shots so there’s no cost and no need to bring an insurance card.

Douglas reported 53 new coronavirus cases on Monday evening along with five recoveries. We should see recoveries start to increase dramatically in the next few days, since it has been two weeks since the 264-case spike. The schools reported four new presumptive positive cases on Monday.

Douglas School Superintendent Keith Lewis will present his goals to the board of trustees at their 4 p.m. meeting. He plans on holding four town hall meetings a year and at least one student town hall at each secondary school. Clear, sunny skies with highs in the 50s with the wind calm picking up to around 5 mph out of the north this afternoon. Lows are dropping down to the 20s over night.
