The seventh annual Empty Bowls of Douglas County event will be Oct. 3 at St. Gall Catholic Church in Gardnerville.

Hosted by Empty Bowls of Douglas County, NV, Inc., this event aims to raise awareness of hunger in the community through symbolic, locally made ceramic bowls and an all-you-can-eat dinner fundraiser.

All proceeds from the event support Carson Valley Community Food Closet's mission to achieve food security in the county.

"Come enjoy the evening with family and friends and make new friends while helping our community one house at a time," said the event coordinator Camille Howard.

Meals will be served  4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m..

A $20 donation includes a hand-made bowl and all you can eat buffet of soups, salads, pastas and more, contributed by many restaurants in the area.

The event will include door prizes, silent auctions and raffles donated by businesses and friends in Douglas County.

For more information call Camille Howard at 775-783-0009.
