Genoa, Nev. — The Genoa Town Offices are closed through the end of the month after Town Manager J.T. Chevallier announced he tested positive for the coronavirus on Wednesday.

Douglas County saw 15 new cases of the coronavirus on Thursday the highest single day amount since the outbreak began in March. The previous highest single-day number was 11 on Oct. 27. Seven people recovered, bringing that total to 474.

Satellite fire detectors indicate the Mountain View Fire near Walker has stopped actively burning at 21,000 acres. There are 13 different fundraisers on gofundme.com for people who lost their homes. As of last night, the fire was 20 percent contained with minimal fire activity, according to the Inciweb. Full containment is anticipated on Nov. 30.

Douglas County commissioners weren’t quite ready to deal with the $18 million Cave Rock water project on Thursday so that was delayed. They did agree to hire a fourth code enforcement officer to deal with vacation home rental complaints.

The next three days will see mostly clear skies with high temperatures climbing into the upper 50s by Sunday. There’s a chance of precipitation on Monday.
