Two record-breaking performances, one on the track and the other in the vaulting pit, highlighted the Greenwave’s performance at the 47th annual Elks Invitational at a rainy and wet Edward Arciniega Athletic Complex on Saturday.

Senior Allison Lister broke the school’s pole vault record with a mark of 10 feet – 6 inches better than the previous – to lead all 3A vaulters while finishing second. Senior sprinter Colton Peterson broke his own record in the 100-meter event, coming 0.33 seconds shy of the meet and track record. Fallon’s boys team finished third in the meet with 90 points behind 4A schools Reed (146) and McQueen (105). The Lady Wave finished sixth with 47 points, third-best among 3A schools, as McQueen won with 154.

Fallon competes in the Reed-Sparks Rotary meet this weekend at Reed High School.

The following results are the top-eight finishes for Fallon.


Peterson broke his own record in the 100 to win the event in 11.05 seconds. He had a season-best 22.49 to win the 200, and junior Zeke Washington finished fourth at 24.22. Washington also finished sixth in the 400 in 56.21 followed by junior Jhadiel Robles in seventh at 56.28.

Junior Trevor East took second in the 110 hurdles in 16.51, a season best, and senior Reid Clyburn was fourth in the 300 hurdles with a season-best 43.62. Junior Morgan Lawry finished seventh in 47.25.

The 4x200 relay of Jonanthan Cisneros, Tristen Mathisen, Washington and Clyburn finished third in 1:39.01, and the 4x100 team of Angelo Vann, Cisneros, Clyburn and Peterson was fourth in 46.45.

In the field, East won the triple jump with a leap 39-9.75, followed by Vann in second at 38-1 and senior Bryan Duenas in third, also at 38-1. Vann finished fourth in the high jump with a personal-best 5-8 and Duenas was fourth in the long jump with a season-best 18-4.75.


Lister’s 10-foot mark in the pole vault highlighted the team’s performance as she finished second. Fellow senior Glenda Lee had a season-best 8 feet for seventh in the pole vault.

Junior Tiffany Sorensen had a pair of fourth-place finishes in the shot put and discus with throws of 29-1.75 and 95-4. Freshman Madeline Stephens finished sixth in the shot put at 28-7 and seventh in the discus at 86-1. Sophomore Aisha Sharron led in the jumps with sixth in the high at 4-4 and fifth in the triple at 32-6. Senior Mayla Dahl had a person best in the high jump at 4-4.

On the track, freshman McCartney McAlexander finished fifth in the 300 hurdles in 54.29 and sixth in the 100 hurdles in 18.35.

The 4x100 relay team of Sorensen, Dahl, Sharron and Lister finished fourth in 56.28, and the 4x200 team of Danyelle Andrews, Angel Arteaga, Kate Rios and McAlexander was seventh in 2:04.15.
