The Popcorn Stand: When dogging it is perfectly OK

Sir Tuffington something or other, the purebred Jack Russell otherwise known as Tuf-Tuf, didn’t seem to be too concerned with the Westminster Dog Show. At least judging by his demeanor, he wasn’t having a “I coulda been a contender, I coulda been a somebody” moment.

So I’m definitely a lot more interested in the Westminster Dog Show than Tuf-Tuf and certainly more than Pete, the Shih Tzu who’s a good looking dog but as far as I know not a purebred.

As I’m writing this, the Best in Show winner in the Westminster Show hasn’t been determined yet. That was going to happen later Tuesday night.

And the climatic night for the Westminster Dog Show happened on Valentine’s Day. I’m sure there were more than a few men in New York, who scored big time by taking their loved ones to see hundreds of cute dogs on Valentine’s Day.

Again, I’m writing this before the Best in Show winner has been named, but I wished a special award could be given to this beagle, Mia — http://kdvr.com/2017/02/14/distracted-beagle-steals-the-show-at-westminster-agility-competition/ — who didn’t seem to have a care in the world as she was competing in the Westminster Agility Dog Show.

Mia decided to go at her own pace, eagerly jumping over the obstacles — but only when she wanted to. But Mia did finish the course, so to me she showed tremendous character even though, yeah, she was dogging it.

But I’ll take a dog dogging it over a professional athlete dogging it any day.
