Genoa's Fire Safe Chapter is meeting 6:30 p.m. tonight at the Genoa Fire Department to discuss fuel reduction projects, including a thinning project above Genoa in 2012 proposed by the U.S. Forest Service and a review of the fall schedule and costs for a compost collection site.

A Gardnerville man, who admitted to attempting to molest a 15-year-old girl while giving her a tattoo, faces 2-20 years in prison this morning in Douglas County District Court. Levi Wood-Duran, 23, is ineligible for probation in the May 29 incident. Wood-Duran was not licensed to give tattoos, nor did he have permission from the girl's parents, which is required in Douglas County.

We're probably looking at the last 90-degree days for a while this week. Today will be sunny and clear with a high of 94 and a light wind of 5 mph picking up this afternoon. The weather will stay in the 90s before starting to slide down on Friday.
